"THOUGHTS FROM MIKE"
A TRIBUTE TO Ronnie Van Zant - Lynyrd Skynyrd
If you love music, this song will do a number on you. It gets to me every time I hear it. Whenever I begin to get a little bit cocky, I'll listen to it. It will keep you humble.
This song was written and performed by Tammy Van Zant, the daughter of Texas rock icon Ronnie Van Zant of the band Lynyrd Skynyrd. Ronnie Van Zant tragically died in a plane crash on October 20, 1977. He is sadly missed.
You can take it from a person that knows the Van Zant family personally...they are all very talented, and that talent runs deep. Even so, none of them can make a steel guitar fly like Ronnie did!
Don McLeans hit song "The Day The Music Died" hit the nail on the head because he sang about the different musicians that were prematurely taken from us.
Take a moment and listen to the words of this great tribute to a great artist of another era. Ronnie was a uniquely gifted, good-hearted person who's life was cut short, but who's music will live on forever no matter what Don McLean sang.
