Here is an example of Mike's work!
Mike Hammond is the owner/operator of KSBT-DB. His experience with radio and communications began when he was sixteen. He
went on a high-school field trip to a local radio station in Rock Hill,
SC, and at that point, Mike knew where his destiny lay. While in high
school, he spent his summers working for WLAX radio in Selma, AL. He
assisted the board operator and also did on-air spots for local
advertisers. After high school, Mike worked for the PTL television network for five years, and then moved to TX in
1979. He continued his education at Texas A&M University, San Jacinto College, and the College of the Mainland in TX.
About twenty years ago, Mike founded KSBT-DB radio in Seabrook, TX as a hobby for community radio. Due to its popularity, it became his full-time job, and still is today. He enjoys giving indie artists the chance to get their music on the air, and also enjoys interviewing them. It really piques the interest of the listeners and can ultimately make or break an artists career.
As a music promoter, Mike's work with his partner at Top Notch Talent has produced some contestants that placed at least within the top 50 out of approximately 20,000 applicants for programs such as "The Voice," "America's Got Talent," "The X-Factor," "American Idol," and local Nashville and Houston radio and television programs. Mike loves his job and finds it rewarding when he can help artists get their music heard, or point them in the direction that is most beneficial to them.
Mike's work with the Children's Impact Center, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping at-risk teenagers, is very close to his heart. CIC has concerts as fundraisers and creates scholarships to aid low-income families. The organization's goal is to help these teens attend a college of their choice, hopefully in the local area. This is a passion of his, and he is honored to have the opportunity to help change the lives of today's youth.
Mike is an active member of the CMA (Country Music Association), the AMA (Americana Music Association), and the CMHOF (Country Music Hall of Fame.)
Mike hosts "Indie Music on the Tornado" at noon CST and "The Hot Top 10 Countdown" at 1:00 p.m! Tune in for some great music!

Dr. Bob And Ms. Kitty hail from Long Beach, Mississippi, where music and the best food east of the Mississippi can be found. And I might add that the priority of the two may not necessarily be in that order! But there is always a close race running between the two! They offer the best in southern hospitality and it shows through brilliantly in their "Memory Lane Radio Show."
If you happen to be in the Long Beach, Mississippi area, stop by "Darwell's Cafe" at 127 First Street for some excellent food. They have been featured multiple times on "The Food Channel" as well as on ABC's acclaimed morning show "Good Morning America".
They aren't light-weights when it come's to first-class entertainment and great food!
We'll see you there!
Join Dr. Bob and Miss Kitty at 5:00 p.m. CST right here on KSBT!
